A group of franchised, casual dining restaurants in the Dallas/Fort Worth area had a problem. There was a disconnect between the aspirations of leadership and culture on the ground. A shift in vision was needed. And it needed to be one that front-line employees could own. The crucial change was to see the restaurant as a home where family offers hospitality to guests. A culture like that is one that employees--even those washing the dishes--can really care about. And it's also one that keeps customers coming back.
